Consequences for Taking a Child for The Purpose of Prostitution

Taking a child for the purpose of prostitution is defined as taking a minor from the person who has legal custody of the minor for the purpose of prostitution. Taking a child for the purpose of prostitution carries a mandatory prison term of 1 year to 2.5 years. Probation IS eligible but can NOT be a lifetime term. Registration as a sex offender IS mandatory.

Taking a child for the purpose of prostitution if victim under 15 is defined as taking a minor from the person who has legal custody of the minor for the purpose of prostitution and minor is under 15. Taking a child for the purpose of prostitution if victim under 15 carries a mandatory prison term of 13 years to 27 years. Probation is NOT eligible for this offense. Registration as a sex offender IS mandatory.
